SHADOWLANDS FARM

When my husband and I married in the fall of 2007, we had made a list of a few goals we wanted to pursue together. Over time, we lost that piece of paper, but one goal has stuck with us - raising goats.  As we attended the local fair each fall and loved walking through the livestock barns, we knew that someday we wanted to make that atmosphere a reality at our home.

While larger livestock was out of the question due to our property limitations, we knew we could raise a small herd of happy goats, and we set out to learn everything we could before bringing any critters home. Our mission was to start a commercial dairy and supply locals with milk, ice cream, and cheese from our herd.

Ten years and two children later, we soft-launched our farm in Maine with a few chickens, along with our starter herd of goats: two does and a registered breeder buck. Our dream was taking form. The following spring, in 2018, the first goat-babies were born on Shadowlands Farm, and there was no going back!

Our farm has since relocated (still in Maine), and our goals for the farm have shifted to goat milk-based skincare products that ease pain and irritation from common complaints like eczema - a condition we have dealt with in my family for years. I’ve always believed that plants have an immense amount of healing properties to offer. I have sought to learn more and have implemented some of what I’ve learned by caring for my own family's skin in making the products we offer here.
